Description

The upper portion of  Umbrella Falls dances down rocky steps on the east face of Mt Hood. I’ve visited this pretty waterfall several times, always late in the day, and have always gotten it completely to myself. The falls become especially picturesque later in the summer on clear evenings when the volume of water reduces so that many small streams and rivulets form and the color of light glowing into the deep shadow shifts to purple, followed by blue, as the sunset progresses and fades.
