Description

Constructed in the early 20th century in a small chapel built onto the side of larger St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, the gorgeous geometry and detailed adornments of the ceiling of Thistle Chapel defines artistry and expert craftsmanship. The way the ceiling is lit brings out such warmth in the wood and highlights the reds and golds in the paint perfectly. The woodwork surrounding the altar and pews is equally delicate. Even though this space is not large it would be easy to spend an hour or more admiring all of the details.
