The End Of Winter
$0.00
Description
Steep Creek Falls is one of my favorite Northwest waterfalls to visit in the wet season. When Covid hit and all of the state parks and national forest trails closed in March 2020, visiting this waterfall became a weekly pilgrimage as a way to escape the walls of the house for a moment. Technically visiting this waterfall was just fine because it is found directly along a forest road at a bridge crossing – no park, no trail. In fact, this photo is taken from the road. I’m normally not a fan of winter waterfall photography when it’s not freezing since the surrounding forest often looks trampled and dead, but Steep Creek Falls shines in late winter with its picturesque form and the clear aquamarine water of Rock Creek rushing by as it does here in this photo from March 2024.
