Description

A large columnar basalt rock draped in seaweed protrudes from the clear blue North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of the Isle of Staffa in Scotland’s Middle Hebrides Islands. Strong winds of an advancing storm were whipping the sea into rolling, swirling froth the day we visited, creating a lot of ocean drama but also making photography difficult from the boat as it tossed about in the waves. After a while we both got a big sea sick to be honest. The seabirds were out in force that day, including Cormorants, Black guillemots, various gulls, and Puffins.
