The Lion of Rosslyn Chapel
$0.00
Description
This is one of a pair of gargoyles that frame one of the doorways into Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland near Edinburgh. The chapel was constructed in the second half of the 15th century and features some of the most intricately carved stonework you will ever see. This particular gargoyle takes the form of a lion, with its delicately chiseled mane clearly visible. When it rains the beast spits the water out away from the building.
