Queen Ann’s Garden 1

Description
Red Roses surround the lawn in Queen Ann’s Garden at Stirling Castle in Scotland. I waited for so long to get this picture because, as a rule, I do not ask people to move out of the shot and Stirling Castle is a very busy place. It was approaching closing time so no more people were being allowed into the castle grounds, so I headed to the garden to get the shot I could not get earlier in the day when the lawn was packed with visitors. There was only one person there – a young girl who was busy frolicking in the grass, running around and having a great time as her mom sat at a nearby picnic table. I kept moving but everywhere I went she would change her pattern and wind up in the shot. I finally left, took a few other pictures from the ramparts behind the garden, and then returned when it appeared she had decided to play somewhere else. I actually only had a few moments before another group appeared and spread out some blankets for a late afternoon picnic snack on the green, making a people-free shot impossible again. Out of the dozen pictures I took within the few clear minutes I had, the lighting and the cloud pattern were both top notch in this one image.
