Description

Getting to Puff Falls in Gifford Pinchot National Forest requires wading up a creek bed and traversing a sizable number of logs for about an hour. There used to be a decent boot path as it is a fairly popular swimming spot in summer but it was destroyed in a forest fire in 2022. After hiking through areas where no trees survived I was thankful to see the falls area itself relatively untouched and the pool free of burnt logs when I returned in July 2024. The base of Puff Falls is especially photogenic – there is often a rainbow in the mist.
