Description

When you visit a place like Painted Hills Unit in John Day Fossil Beds National Monument it’s hard not to focus on the epicness of the main features at each location. It’s when you slow down and take a good look all around that you start to notice how amazing everything is and not just the main event. I discovered these two trees looking down at me from the top of a ridgeline at the end of Painted Overlook Trail. For me it’s the deep blue sky with the moon and a few well-placed dramatic clouds that makes this such a special photo.
