Description

The Illinois River stumbles and falls through a scenic boulder garden at aptly named Little Falls in Rogue-Siskiyou National Forest on a warm August evening. I adore the Illinois River – it’s got everything that makes Southern Oregon such a beautiful and unique region and is my absolute favorite summer playground. I was happy to spend a few hours in August 2024 exploring the Eight-Dollar Mountain area and found this pretty spot sandwiched between two long, deep pools in a shallow canyon.
