Cannon Beach’s Haystack Rock and The Needles stand silhouetted against the last bands of color in a glorious Oregon Coast sunset. Venus, “the evening star”, shines as a pinpoint of light in the darkening sky. I moved up and down the beach, looking for a spot where the retreating tide had left ripples in the wet sand that were untarnished by footprints. The light was nearly gone when I captured this serene shot.
