Diver’s Hole Pebbles

Description
When I first started getting into photography I was especially interested in water. It has both reflective and transparent properties, and its rippling surface distorts both the light that bounces off of it and the objects viewed through it. When I visited Diver’s Hole on the Illinois River in Southern Oregon I waded across the river at a shallow point right above a small rapid. I looked down and noticed how the current was pulling the water into horizontal lines that created an amazing distortion of the colorful pebbles on the river bottom. I focused on a group of more colorful stones to create this abstract image.
