The Devil Wears Green

Description
Diffuse sunlight passing through the leafy forest and bouncing off the mossy walls produces a green glowing light at The Devil’s Pulpit in central Scotland near Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. What’s harder to see in this photo due to the strong reflection and deep pool is the red sandstone of the canyon walls and creek bed, which gives the appearance of a river of blood in spots where the stream is shallow. Getting to this point requires a somewhat challenging descent into the canyon followed by around 50 feet of wading up the creek past the legendary Devil’s Pulpit rock formation which rises up out of the canyon floor about 20 feet downstream. Devil’s Pulpit was one of my top favorite places I visited during my incredible two weeks in Scotland…it’s no wonder so many legends surround this mythical spot.
