We spent Christmas 2023 on one of the many motus that encircle magical Bora Bora in French Polynesia’s Society Islands. On our first night we were blessed by this absolutely incredible sunset, with such pronounced beams of light and glorious color that everyone at our resort was just awestruck. I waded into the knee-deep lagoon to get this angle which created much better lines and strengthened the contrast of the palms silhouetted against the glow. The moment captured here is, for many, the iconic definition of “tropical paradise.” Being there in it and experiencing something as perfect as this is a memory I will always treasure.
