It doesn’t get more peaceful than this warm, calm day at Kildonan Beach on the south coast of Isle of Arran – the experience of being there, with the entire beach to ourselves, has become my definition of the word “placid”. We spent an hour scouring the entire beach for a supposed dinosaur footprint that is embedded in a rock on the beach, which we never found. We did find a few nice agates though! The view looks across the Firth of Clyde to Plodda Lighthouse and beyond to the Scottish mainland.
