My husband and I took my college-age children island hopping through French Polynesia for the holidays in the end of 2023. I stepped away from the Christmas Eve soiree to capture this stunning, gentle tropical sunset which surpassed all of the holiday lighting at the resort we were staying at, with that glowing gold emanating from the clouds. I was honestly so captivated that I forgot all about the festivities – my family came and found me after about twenty minutes of me switching between running around the beach shooting every angle I could find and me just standing there soaking in the glory of the moment. This shot is my favorite of the many I took that evening due to the stillness of the palms coupled with the magnificent cloud colors.
